Subscriber expectations for new, high-performance Ultra-Broadband services continue to increase and carriers are building our fibre infrastructure to attract subscribers with the promise of high bandwidth. DOCSIS^® 3.0 offers major new advantages that can allow cable operators to more effectively compete with carriers, offer higher-speed services, increase bandwidth efficiency and provide increased security to attract more business from commercial accounts.

Now that channel bonding specifications are finalised as an important element of DOCSIS 3.0, Motorola will include DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 3.0 channel bonding support in BSR 64000 software releases. All existing BSR 64000 customers with 2:8 CMTS Modules can leverage standards-based channel bonding just by installing the required software release.

Cable operators can bond up to four physical channels to offer Ultra-Broadband services to successfully compete with telcos. Motorola's BSR 64000 provides the investment protection cable operators require to easily migrate to DOCSIS/EuroDOCSIS 3.0 while supporting existing populations of DOCSIS 1.X and 2.0 modems on existing infrastructure and introducing high-throughput residential and commercial services.
