During a major incident, enhanced communication among incident and emergency managers at operations centers and responder personnel at the scene is critical.

Deployable Communications & Interoperability—designed for rapid response, Motorola’s deployable and interoperable response solutions provide extra support for special events, run specialized applications and provide back-up support to primary systems in the event of an emergency, as was done during Hurricane Katrina.

Our solutions allow the formation of scalable, ad hoc networks so that responders can connect independent of citywide infrastructures and immediately share information. With our wireless broadband data network, users get access where and when they need it, with or without the presence of a back-end fixed communication infrastructure.

Motorola’s key offerings include:

RF Site on wheels: a fully integrated RF site, including a shelter, antenna, generator, trailer and Motorola radio equipment.

Backhaul on wheels: for rapid response to sites that need backhaul connectivity.
  • Includes shelter, generator, trailer and backhaul equipment

Master Site on wheels: An ASTRO 25 Integrated voice and data system utilizing the ARC 4000 in an integrated outdoor cabinet on wheels

Interoperability—our IP based solution is scalable and rapidly establishes communication between disparate networks. True Interoperability is flexible and can accommodate all aspects of the users’ requirements, from the command center to the end user, regardless of the network type or agency affiliation.

Motorola’s interoperability is based on the user-developed Project 25 (P25) standard for wireless communication users. Developed under joint state, local and federal guidance and Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) governances, P25 is gaining worldwide acceptance for federal, public safety, security, public service and commercial applications.

Wireless Broadband – our wireless broadband portfolio provides high speed connectivity enabling greater situational awareness, improved response and seamless connectivity to critical voice, data and video applications when and where they are needed.

Some prominent Incident Management examples include:
  • 9/11
  • Natural Disasters: Virtually every natural disaster including Hurricanes, Earthquakes and Wildland Fires.
  • Pre-planned Events: Such as; political conventions & events, Superbowl, etc
