WMX 4.0 Software Release

Overview

WMX 4.0 Software Release
  • WMX 4.0 Software Release

Motorola’s WMX 4.0 software release provides the foundation for developing and delivering rich multimedia services while reducing your total cost of ownership. This software solution allows you to differentiate your offering and increase your market share.

WMX 4.0 builds upon Motorola’s high-quality software development foundation to further enhance the capabilities of the network and address the requirements of specific customers and markets.

Features and Benefits

Motorola’s WMX Software Release 4.0 provides a number of features developed to enhance efficiency and open new sources of revenue. WMX 4.0 enhances the capabilities of the system with features like Multi-Carrier Support and Traffic Shaping. In addition, this release adds support for industry-leading new products like the ASN 1000 gateway, the WAP 650, the Motorola NMS and the latest EMS platforms. WMX Software Release 4.0 features deliver benefits including:
  • Enhanced O&M Capabilities
  • Enabling Premium Services
  • Accelerated Return on Investment

Highlights of Release 4.0’s feature content include:

AAA Authentication of SSH Logins to AP/CAPC
This feature simplifies login management for the AP, CAPC and EMS elements by providing centralized authorization logins across the network elements. User permission levels can increase operational efficiency and improve productivity by simplifying the login management requirements and greatly reducing any associated errors.

Network Entry Failure Reporting with Timed Alarms and Accounting Stop
Entry failure reporting enhances your ability to troubleshoot and manage multiple types of faults. It delivers a mechanism to communicate to the AAA sufficiently detailed failure codes to describe a network entry failure so that the root cause of the failure can be identified and the necessary changes made to enable successful network entry. This can reduce the costs associated with network entry failure reporting and increase operational productivity.

O&M Online Configuration Change - Phase 2
WMX 4.0 provides the ability to make a change to the configuration of a Network Element (NE) and have the NE implement the change without requiring a complete reboot. In addition, it enables the on-line modification of the AP while requiring the smallest outage possible, for example, requiring only the reboot of a single card. Call processing interruptions and the related costs are dramatically reduced since fewer parameters will require an AP reboot.

CAPC L1/L2 Detection and Failover Escalation
This feature increases the granularity of communication between the CAPC and other components by adding a deeper level of intra-ASNGW fault handling, enhancing your ability to troubleshoot and manage multiple types of faults. Implementing the CAPC L1/L2 Detection and Failover Escalation can reduce the costs associated with communication issues, increase operational productivity and reduce the costs related to customer-impacting service issues.
