LTE is the next generation network technology for 3GPP (GSM/EDGE and UMTS/HSPA) and 3GPP2 (CDMA and EV-DO) operators. LTE is comprised of two main elements; the EUTRAN (Evolved UMTS Radio Access Network) and the EPC (Evolved Packet Core).
LTE Standards are scheduled to be finalized by the end of 2008 with the first commercial deployments expected to take place in late 2009 or early 2010.
