Motorola offers a robust and distributed architecture SoftSwitch solution – The complete solution includes powerful Motorola Telephony SoftSwitch (MTS –U), Media Gateway (MGW), Home Location Register (HLR) and Operation and Maintenance (OMC-3G). The solution is compliant with 3GPP standards (R5 & R6) architecture and functionality providing a seamless migration path to next generation architectures. The MTS-U combines the functionality of a Mobile Switching Center (MSC) with VoIP gateways, while running on a standards-based open Application Program Interface (API) platform. It offers flexibility and reliability in a cost-effective manner, easy-to-deploy, small footprint that readily overlays onto existing infrastructure. It supports both GSM and HSPA on a single platform, providing CAPEX and OPEX efficiencies.

Packet Core
Motorola’s Packet Core solution complies with 3GPP release R5 & R6 standards and is a common platform supporting 2G and 3G. The solution includes SGSN, GGSN and Charging Gateway as well as Packet Core O&M. The platform delivers high subscriber capacity with high PDP contexts. It also provides data processing, routing and management capability allowing new applications and features such as Push-To-Talk over Cellular (PoC) and IP Multimedia Subsystems (IMS).
