Motorola's UMTS network solution provides an opportunity to grow the data service capabilities of GSM networks and is also suited to new Service Providers with a limited available spectrum. UMTS has matured and evolved with HSPA, HSPA+ and the associated data service offerings, being deployed worldwide with over 300 networks commercially active. HSPA and HSPA+ provide a cost and spectrum efficient way to enter into data mobility, supporting applications such as email and web browsing.
Sharing the same Core network components as the 2G RAN, our Horizon Core portfolio also supports the high speed data offerings provided by HSPA, integrating into your data-centric applications. This assists in a seamless migration from 2G to UMTS and HSPA.
Each of these technologies can be monitored via our operational management platform, the Motorola Horizon OMC, a highly scalable and capable network managing tool, capable of managing Motorola enabled GSM networks.
