Remote Addressable DANIS/DLS (RADD)

The Remote Addressable DANIS/DLS (RADD) is used in conjunction with the DAC6000 to provide system maintenance operations and greater reliability in the networked access control system. It supplies real-time repetitive messages, such as polling and code downloads, to the set-top box.

The system scales through the addition of multiple RADDs, each managing similar real-time tasks on a segregated portion of the network. The DAC6000 schedules activities on the RADD for a selectable number of hours, allowing the RADD to continue its execution of tasks even if the DAC6000 is running a system backup.

The RADD utilizes the Sun Netra platform running Solaris OS. It can be monitored remotely using a Java-enabled console.
