The ERM1000 allows advanced services to share network resources. As new service delivery technologies continue to expand, such as on-demand programming, high-speed data and switched digital video, bandwidth can be reallocated without rewiring and reconfiguring.

The ERM1000 manages all of the narrowcast QAMs in a headend using the cable operator’s policies. Narrowcast edge QAMs can be used as a generic resource with 50,000 streams being managed with a sustained session setup rate of at least 100 sessions per second.

Browser-based management pages allow operators to view ERM1000 status, including processing statistics, configuration information, complete session lists and diagnostics.
