New music … and new ways to listen

November 25, 2011 : BY Motorola

Time to face the music. Your playlists are looking a little … tired. Give your music library the facelift it needs with songs from Android Market. There are millions of songs available for purchase, as well as a collection of free music.

And the best part about buying songs from Android Market? Being able to listen instantly, from anywhere with Google Music. Whether you’re online at your computer, out and about with just your phone, or on your tablet, as soon as you buy a song from Android Market, it’s instantly accessible through Google Music and the Google Music app on your device — no wires and no syncing required. Android 2.2 or higher is required.

Google Music stores all your Android Market song purchases, plus you can add up to 20,000 more songs from your personal music collection for free.

Other Google Music highlights:
* Free song of the day
* When you like what you hear, share it with friends. You can share a free full play of the songs you purchase from Android Market with your friends on Google+.
* Exclusive tracks and albums from popular artists — The Rolling Stones, Coldplay, Busta Rhymes, Shakira, Pearl Jam and Dave Matthews Band

So, make your ears happy. Get shopping for some new jams in the Android Market, then get listening with Google Music and the Google Music app.

Features, Software & Apps

Whether it’s your alma mater, the park where you got engaged or your favorite BBQ joint in Memphis, you have stories to share behind the places you’ve been. And the new StoryPlace.me app from Motorola makes it easy to share those stories with your family and friends, as video messages.

Here’s how it works:

  • Create: Use the app to create videos about locations around the world that are meaningful to you.
  • Set permissions: Decide which of your family and friends who also use StoryPlace.me can watch your videos.
  • Tell your story: When family and friends come near the location of a video you’ve shared, they’ll get a notification on their Android phone and can watch your story.

StoryPlace.me is also a great way to learn more about the city where you live, or one you’re visiting for work or play. We’ve partnered with local tourism boards all over the United States and created public video collections — that is, groups of videos that are linked to particular points on a map. Follow a public collection, and when you approach a point of interest, you’ll get a notification on your phone to view the video story attached to that location.
