Be great if i could download it. They should roll out the update by activation date. Been dealing with this crap since its release.

  • James Hardie

Data dropping like crazy now…This is worse than before. Now I have to figure out an easy way to roll back. :(

  • Jake

Really? Had to block root on us didn’t you… when will you learn, we will gain root again, we always do, and always will.

  • Darin B.

    All this for free?!?!

The problem of holding Data Connectivity has NOT been resolved….the new software still needs reboots and sometimes can be brought back by going to airplane mode and then back to normal mode. The 3G and 4G data connectivity still seem to fight each other.

  • Clbarnett

Mine is working way better! Thanks

  • Monk Mojo

Agreed. And the worst part is, I have something like 10 updates for software I don’t want constantly popping up. It wouldn’t be a problem if I wasn’t paying for data.

I’m not a big phone geek, but the installed bloatware that came with my Bionic really irritates me. As there seems to be no non-geek way of uninstalling this crap, I’ll have to pass on any more Motorola phones.

Perhaps when Google acquires Motorola Mobility, they’ll put a stop to the bloatware. My wifes iPhone came with absolutely NO bloatware installed on it. Needless to say, I’m more than just a bit jealous of that.

  • Ken Rangen

Plus when I lose my data connectivity, it usually requires me to do a total reboot of the Bionic, and sometimes that doesn’t even work the first time I do it.

    Please fix that glitch, ASAP.

When is the Motorola Defy getting a gingerbread update?
In India, Motorola defy GPS is extremely solw because there is no gps.conf file in /system/etc folder with correct ntp server names.

I was told by a motorola employee that I would get the update within 24 hrs, that was christmas eve, and now I was told by bernard that it was the christmas holiday and i should not expect it within 24 hrs. they feed the employee lies and they pass them on…..Terrible way to do business

Just got off the phone with Motorola… They still don’t have a release date for 5.9.901, but did confirm that is the latest software being tested… If I want to mail my phone to TX they will “fix it” and send it back to me in 7-10days. He was 100% sure the problem could be corrected in this matter… I wonder what they would do to correct my data issues before returning it to me?
