We have some news for the community of people interested in unlockable/relockable bootloaders. Today, we announced a step forward in Europe with the availability of an unlockable version of our most in-demand product: the Motorola RAZR™ Developer Edition. This solution allows us to continue meeting our carrier and regulatory obligations, but also meets the needs being expressed by our developer community.
In the coming months, we also plan to introduce an unlockable developer device in the United States through MOTODEV, Motorola’s global developer network. Stay tuned to Motorola’s Developer site for additional info.
EU-based consumers can pre-order the Motorola RAZR Developer Edition through the Motorola Shop. Post-purchase, the MOTODEV site will contain all support info for unlocking, relocking and locating build files, as well as access to additional developer resources. The Developer Edition will have all the same great features as the Motorola RAZR: an impossibly thin design, hyper-vibrant Super AMOLED Advanced display, KEVLAR(R) fiber and more.

Our world is always changing, and the way that children are being taught is also evolving everyday. Motorola Mobility believes in empowering students with innovative technology to help them not only learn better, but have more fun doing it. So earlier this year, we gave students at one San Diego high school Motorola XOOM tablets to see what would happen.
The school administrators deployed the tablets in math and science classes, and for students who had been identified as having learning challenges. Teachers are finding that these students are now more excited about learning than ever – through hands-on activities, educational games, and digital books.
According to Bruce Cochrane, Executive Director of Pupil Services for San Dieguito Union High School District, “San Dieguito Union High School District has been working to redesign our schools to represent 21st century classrooms, and bringing tablet technology to our students was one of the first projects we initiated in order to meet that mandate.” When asked why Motorola XOOM, he responded that “Motorola XOOM tablets were the most logical choice not only due to their highly usable design, but also due to the tight integration of the hardware with the Honeycomb OS; our district is moving to Android and applications such as Google Docs, so the Motorola XOOM was an ideal platform to be able to share capabilities across all devices for teachers and students alike.”
Check out this Tablets in Education post for all the info on our program, and see for yourself in the video below, how Motorola’s tablets are changing the way these students learn:
