Motorola and Verizon Wireless are kicking CES 2012 off in style with three new exciting additions to the DROID lineup:

Take Care of Business in a Flash With DROID 4

Rail-thin at just ½”thick, and ready to get down to business when you are, DROID 4 by Motorola is the thinnest, most powerful 4G LTE QWERTY smartphone around. With a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM and a five-row QWERTY keyboard with a PC-like layout and edge-lit keys, DROID 4 can handle even the most demanding lifestyles. If that wasn’t enough, cool software like MotoCast and SMARTACTIONS will keep you connected and flexible at work or play.

Power to the Purple

It’s a color fit for kings. And now, DROID RAZR. Because DROID RAZR by Motorola is adding purple to the color revolution. Coming in just a few weeks, the new color comes with a 16 GB on-board memory. Whether you get DROID RAZR in purple, classic black, or white, you get all the same amazing features that make it possible to search the Web and stream media at breakneck speeds with 4G LTE.

DROID RAZR to the MAXX

DROID RAZR MAXX by Motorola is the longest-lasting battery on the smartphone block. Hands down. At just 8.99 mm, the device is still crazy thin. This device is perfect for those who spend their days and nights multi-tasking, and has enough juice for talking on the phone for over 21 hours straight. So you’ll almost certainly run out of stuff to talk about long before your battery fades.

you guys like alienating customers? I felt burned when the Razr came out so soon after the Bionic, I can’t imagine how Razr owners feel right now

I am just waiting for the price to drop on the Nexxus, love my original Droid but not interested in this heavily skinned interface – Moto Blur. Keep it clean Motorola!!

Soooo, a Droid 3 with 4G, not very long after many of my friends bought them, a purple Razr for whatever reason, and a RAZR with a bigger, still non-removable battery. Also only 2 months after the release of the original RAZR. All with presumably locked bootloaders. Sorry Motorola. All of my NOPE. The x2 is the last moto device I will own until you guys get your act together. Not to mention that it’s the worst smartphone I’ve ever owned, with the possible exception of the Omnia which kept having the touch screen die on me. Kill Blur, unlock your bootloaders, and move to a more meaningful release cycle instead of pushing phones every 3 months with slightly different feature sets and incompatible accessories. Then we’ll talk.

Isn’t Motorola Mobility now owned by Google? I am absolutely astonished that you would release a new version of the Razr with no improvements other than fixing a design mistake (insufficient battery) in the original release! The screen now appears to be the lowest resolution of the current offering of top tier Android phones, also far from the brightest.

As the Google owned Android phone maker, your software is back-level and you are planning to take another HALF YEAR to bring it to the point where other manufacturers are today. Seriously??!! That’s about two turns of Smartphone models in today’s marketplace. By the time you release ICS for Razr, quad-core Android phones will be on every manufacturers list of released phones (except for Motorola, I assume). In fact, compared to the competition, the Razr’s only strength is the physical robustness of the package, which I commend.

I held back the entire family from going to the Galaxy Nexus to see if we could stay with Motorola (we are original Droid owners). So Motorola goes to CES with nothing to show! Seriously, a bigger battery and a purple case??!! I can hear the guys at Samsung and LG High-Fiving each other all the way over here in New York! Very frustrating and disappointing.

I will be upgrading this year and unless you unlock the boot loaders, like you promised, we will be a Motorola free company. We do not support your behavior as a company.

So since the new purple Razr is going to be $199, which is $100 cheaper than the current Razr, is that because it will only have 16GB of on board storage as compared to the 32GB that is on the current Razr? Or is the original Razr dropping to $199 also with 32GB of on board storage? Thanks!!

Still within my 30 days but unlikely I will leave the NEXUS ship…..it is performing fantastically with 4G LTE (i’ve peaked at 32Mbps down/21 up)……and the battery life hasn’t been as horrid as originally reported (~ 8-9 hours medium use on standard batter….15+ on extended).

The DROID 4 is alluring with the keyboard if they manage to keep it thin, give it a removable battery and a timeline for ICS upgrade…… I would be tempted.
