Android 4.0 ICS available for all DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX owners

Great news. As we type, Ice Cream Sandwich is rolling out to DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX. Owners: if you haven’t yet received the upgrade but can’t bear to wait, check your phone settings. Go to “About phone,” select “System updates” and you should see the upgrade available for download.

You’ve told us what’s important to you, and we’ve been listening.  In addition to all the great new features that Ice Cream Sandwich delivers to your smartphone, we are also making your DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX Global Ready with this upgrade – so you can talk, text, browse, email, and more with voice and data connectivity in over 220 countries.*

With this upgrade, everything gets just a little bit easier—and faster. Make a call, send a text or take a picture, right from the unlock screen. You can use the new face unlock feature where your phone will unlock with just a glance – no PIN or password! — but only for your face, and nobody else’s.

    I have been anticipating the release of ics on the droid razr but I’m from Trinidad and Tobago, the Caribbean and have no access to this upgrade, at least none that I can think of… I would really like to upgrade my phone though can you offer any suggestions?

    I have been anticipating the release of ics for the droid razr but I am from the Caribbean and I am not sure whether it would be available in my territory. Any advice on how to acquire it on my phone would be greatly appreciated :)

    Guys you made really greate phone, so why not support people from Europe and around the world?
    I’m really missing for my Google Nexus (all updates were available immediately).
    HTC, Samsung and even Sony already gave updates for ICS, but Motorola which is owned by Google is still wating. Shame of you guys. Motorola’s phones have to be #1 in update list.

    Motorola – you have really botched the webtop. If I had wanted a tablet, I would have bought one.

    I need to be able to window applications (or at least a mobile view where I have tabs). I also prefer a more PC styled environment for use on the HD dock or laptop. As it stands now, I am really just given an enhanced mirror mode for webdock! This new web dock is a huge disappointment, I hope you folks are reading this and have something in the works to change the direction you are heading in.

    hey, i have just bought a motorola razr and have looked under system updates and ICS is not available. I am a UK customer and i am stuck on gingerbread. has the official ICS come out for the uk for my device?

    Sorry to hear that. If you still haven’t received the update, please go to your DROID RAZR’s Settings then click on About Phone and then click on System Updates. You should see a notice for the ICS upgrade after that.

      i get error after update download and install, phone reboot and i get update status the software update failed message

    You said it will get released, early, during and then before the end of second quarter of 12, Well its 9 of July and the ICS thankyou nor its trace you should have specified that ICS would only be available in the US and still undefinite to the rest of the world. Im in Mexico and I cant believe that i could reach the US by crawling and still arrive earlier than the ICS to my phone , now is the Jelly bean the new release and the dmn ICS good, thanks I should think then; the Jelly Bean might take another year if we´re lucky to arrive to MX? so its my fault should I have bought the Galaxy Nexus or even the galaxy SII instead?

    Thanks for getting in touch. We are currently examining the issue but in the meantime we recommend clearing the cache of the apps. Please go to Settings > manage apps > select app, clear cache.

    I keep waiting for the update. All my phones were Motorola C115, V235, V360, Rokr E2, Rokr Z6, ZN5, Milestone, Defy, Atrix and now I have the Motorola RAZR … I buy and recommend the brand for years, but you are cheating me with the update to ICS who had promised to SIX WEEKS after the release of that version of Android … It’s been TEN MONTHS and remain unfulfilled. Any response to this?

      Rollouts began in Q2 and are on going. To see if you’ve received it, go to settings > about phone > system updates.

    Sorry to hear that. Are you trying to play the videos from the gallery app? Have you tried the Google Play Movie apps? Keep us posted.

    You may want to check with your carrier to see if there have been any outages.

    After upgrading my Droid Razr he failed to recognize the car dock. Motorola does not know tell me how to precede.

    I got update to ICS. Now my phone is double slowly!!!

    Thank very and very much to IT dumbheads who needs a half year to programm everything SO bad. Please, fire all this people out!

    5 times in the past month wife and I had to reset our Razr Maxx phones because of SMS glitch. All messages that were deleted come back as 12/31/69 and unremoveable. And nobody at Verizon or Motorola has heard of this issue, yet it’s all over the net on ALL Android phones.
