How To

Taking and Sharing Screenshots – Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Motorola on Verizon

July 11, 2012 : BY Motorola

Got a screenshot you want to share? Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) makes it easy. Just press and hold the power and volume-down keys simultaneously for a few seconds. Your screenshot is saved to your gallery and ready to share. You can also add a message if you like. How cool is that? Check out the DROID RAZR , DROID RAZR MAXX, DROID 4 and DROID XYBOARD 10.1 which have this new feature available with the Android 4.0 update.

Take a peek at this simple how-to video for additional details.

Hi there, the DROID RAZR will take a screenshot during the reboot process. Make sure to hold down the volume down & power button for 10 seconds to trigger the reboot.

Wow I have been trying to figure this out all morning. Wish I would have found this site first! Worked for me :)

Now that the BIONIC has finally got its update for ICS, this method works for Screen Captures; ELATED!!

I got a Xyboard 8.2 which was recently updated with the official upgrade to Android 4 released on october 2012, but I tried it and it doesn’t work for me.

I’ve tried so many times. Do I need to enable something else? Is my device supported?

    Thanks in advance.

Do I need to activate something for my droid 4 to take screenshots with ICS?

  • Jacob Berens

I have the DROID 4 and I cannot get the screen shot to work no matter how I try. Is there some way to turn it on or a special way I need to do it?

  • alaa

it didnt work with me :(

Sometimes it takes a few tries to get the hang of it. Be sure to press both the power and volume DOWN at exactly the same time and hold till the phone captures the screen. Let us know if you get the hang of it.

Holding the volume down and power is a hard reset for your phone when it freezes no way in anyway does that take a screenshot your wasting your time
