There are a lot of ways to share data with your circles. You can email them, share on Google Drive, use a flash drive, etc. But with many of the latest Android phones coming with NFC capabilities, you can now easily share contacts, web pages, directions, apps and more with a simple touch and tap. Near field communication (NFC) technology makes it all possible. Just touch your DROID RAZR MAXX HD to another NFC-enabled Android device, then tap the screen to beam the content from your phone to another. With a future upgrade, you’ll be able to use NFC to make purchases at participating store registers.

Don’t you hate it when the mobile version of your favorite site or app leaves you feeling frustrated and wondering why they even bothered. With all the enhancements on the Google+ for Android app, the mobile experience is now something to enjoy when doing the things you love to do.

One of the new improvements is all about images. When using Google’s instant upload feature, you can now store up to 5 GB of full-sized photos for free. No more paying monthly fees from some of those other services to store your precious snapshots. The 5 GB is in addition to the already included unlimited uploads for 2048-pixel photos. Plus, GIF images are also now supported in your mobile news feed, making for a richer media experience in which to show your flair.

If you’ve always wanted to try a Hangout on your DROID RAZR MAXX HD or other compatible Motorola phone, now the Google+ app lets you have a smoother experience. Supporting bandwith connections as low as 150kb, and video chat with up to 9 friends, using mobile Hangouts is the way to keep your posse together.

Google+ Events are now more interactive with the ability to send messages to specific guests and to know who’s opened your invitations, so you know if your ‘dear old friend’ is fibbing when they say they never got your invite. You can also copy and paste the event url into an email or chat box, and have a running total of the invite list by letting invitees check their status.

Photos can be shared automatically to an Event with Party Mode. And if you want to see what’s going on in the world or right around you, you can see trending topics and nearby public conversations.

With these and other improvements, the Google+ mobile experience will leave you wondering why you ever needed a desktop computer in the first place. Check out the free app in the Google Play Store where you can see screenshots, a video and more.

Traveling during the holidays sure can be a hassle. From packing and getting to the airport on time, to dealing with gate changes and delays. Fortunately, with the recent update to Google Now on the MOTOROLA ATRIX™ HD, you’ll be ready to go, with cards featuring boarding information, weather at your destination and more. Its just one of the amazing new features you will find in the Android™ 4.1 Jelly Bean update now available for multiple Motorola devices.

If you’re flying United Airlines, Google Now can pull up a card with your boarding pass and information on your departure time as well as departure gate. And just so you don’t end up arriving to the airport for a delayed flight, you’ll see the flight status on the card as well. You’ll even get a prompt to navigate to the airport from wherever you are at, with a traffic report that gives you an estimate of when you should leave. About the only thing Google Now won’t do for you is give an estimate of how long the line is at airport security.

Before you set off for the airport though, you probably want some help in wondering what to pack. Google Now provides the weather for your upcoming destination so you know whether to bring a rain coat, winter coat or flip flops and shorts. All of this comes from pulling flight details directly from your Gmail account. Depending on what permissions you give to the app, you can get cards with restaurant and hotel reservations, translation help, currency conversions and even local attraction recommendations.

Google Now provides so much detail that you can leave the guide books at home and ditch the tour guide in that exotic locale. So whether you’re traveling over the holidays or planning for that next getaway, make sure to take your MOTOROLA ATRIX™ HD with you to enjoy all the benefits of Google Now on the go.

December 19, 2012 : BY Motorola

Solitaire and other mobile games can be great time fillers, but you can only move so many cards, or kill so many falling stars, before your brain yearns for something more.

Enter Google Currents, the one stop shop for everything you could want to read, watch, and enjoy in a mobile experience. There are breaking stories, sports, science and tech, entertainment, business, lifestyle, and the ability to customize all these categories to suit your unique tastes. And with the 4.7″ high resolution HD display delivering vibrant visual clarity on your DROID RAZR HD by Motorola, you’ll be doing your eyes a favor too.

In the latest update, the user experience has gotten even better, with a fast scan navigation mode that lets you quickly swipe vertically to discover unread stories within an edition, swipe horizontally to move to the next edition within a category. Or, use the “sidebar” to jump ahead to a specific edition. If you see a story you find fascinating, but don’t have the time to read now, simply “Star” it, and it will be saved for later reading in you personal saved stories edition. And on top of all the great content built in, you can add your favorite blogs and feeds, to make Google Currents, Your Currents, all with the look and feel of a beautifully produced magazine.

Each edition is available for high speed offline reading as well, and has quick-touch sharing, so your friends can be as enthralled as you were reading about the twin NASA probes readying for a Moon crash Monday on Space.com. Google Currents self-adapts to differently sized phones and tablets, with subscriptions synchronized across devices.

Google Currents – a reading experience not to be missed. No wonder it was named a top ten Android app by the New York Times, The Next Web, SlashGear and others.

Ready, set, cards! If your day isn’t starting out with Google Now cards, you may be heading out unprepared and about to be a victim of traffic jams, fast approaching storms, and worst of all, a route into work that has you bumper to bumper instead of humming along. Suddenly that express bus isn’t looking so swift after all. You could spend your precious morning minutes going online to check on the weather, then the traffic, then seeing what alternate options you might find on your local transit website. Or you could just wake up, open Google Now on your DROID RAZR HD by Motorola, and everything is brought right to your homescreen.

With the Weather card showing rain, causing the traffic jam as reflected on your Traffic card, that bus is out, and it’s off to the train. The Transit card pops up with the schedule for nearby buses and trains. You see the next train is in 6 minutes, perfect timing. And then if your train is delayed by mechanical difficulties on the tracks ahead and just sitting there at the station, once again, the transit card on Google Now will show you all the alternate buses and trains nearby. No more standing by like all the lemmings waiting for further instructions. You can easily set up the cards you want to see, when you want to see them. Google Now let’s you be the maestro of your morning commute.

Please visit the Motorola Google+ page here to see more examples of the Google Now Transit Cards in action.
