Our Moto Athletes worked up a real sweat at Mobile World Congress, each testing their endurance while playing music and measuring their performance with their MOTOACTVs. During the four days of the show, our Moto Athletes ran and cycled over 600km or on average just over 3 and a half full marathons every day.
We even had Olympic, World and Commonwealth champion Iwan Thomas run a mile (twice) on the treadmill to showcase how the MOTOACTV has helped his training regime.
However it wasn’t just competition amongst the Moto Athletes or sports personalities that created buzz around the MOTOACTV area. The #MWCMarathon Twitter competition was a huge success, where people entered a daily competition for their chance to win one of ten MOTOACTV devices.
We received hundreds of entries and the lucky winners of each day are featured below:
Day 1 of the #MWCMarathon – 27 Feb 2012 (96.39 kilometers)
@richard_jg
Day 2 of the #MWCMarathon – 28 Feb 2012 (156.267 kilometers)
Iwan’s Mile – 28 Feb 2012 (Fastest Time of 5:58)
Day 3 of the #MWCMarathon – 29 Feb 2012 (189.74 kilometers)
Day 4 of the #MWCMarathon – 1 March 2012 (159.616 kilometers)
Please DM @MOTOACTV via Twitter with your email address so we can arrange delivery of your brand new MOTOACTV.

Welcome to Mobile World Congress! Once again the Motorola Mobility team has descended upon Barcelona en masse to attend Europe’s biggest mobile conference – showcasing our latest technology, software and services for work, home and play.
Whether you are interested in the latest smartphone and tablet devices, innovative software that delivers the new ‘must have’ feature, or technology that transforms the way consumers experience entertainment at home and beyond – we’re showcasing it all.
But we’re not just talking about the “fun” stuff this week. With growth of BYOD (bring your own device) work cultures, the subsequent consumerisation of IT, we’ll be talking about how we’re enhancing Android’s enterprise capabilities to deliver powerful, secure, sophisticated mobile devices to the business and enterprise market.
Motorola’s Business Ready devices are spearheading the growth of Android powered devices in the enterprise with more than 20 models of smartphones and tablets launched over the past three years, and recently announced devices such as the Motorola RAZR offer industry-first features such as FIPS 140-2 government-grade encryption.
Other productivity tools include MotoCast™ by Motorola for remote file access, Smart Actions for task automation, and Citrix® GoToMeeting® for collaboration while on the go are also ensuring our Android devices are ready for business.
We’re also ensuring our devices are the preferred tool not just by “consumers” but also the IT team, with the launch of a brand new MOTODEV for Enterprise resource center which allows developers to quickly, easily and securely deliver and deploy in-house or commercial applications and services. Check out the full press release here.
It’s going to be a busy and exciting week here at Mobile World Congress and we’ll be bringing you news, views and content from the show on a daily basis.
Also, be sure to check out the MOTOACTV™ #MWCMarathon competition we’ll be running during the show to see how you can be part of the action.

We’re giving away 10 MOTOACTV fitness tracker / smart MP3 players at Mobile World Congress next week in Barcelona – and you can win one just sitting on your couch.
Not familiar with MOTOACTV? Get up to speed here.
So here’s how to win yours.
Europe’s biggest mobile event, Mobile World Congress, takes place over four days, February 27 – March 1 in Barcelona, Spain. Motorola Mobility will be there in full force, showing off our latest stuff – including MOTOACTV.
Each day of the show, we’ll have Moto Athletes putting MOTOACTV to work on a treadmill and stationary bike.
All you have to do is tell us via Twitter how many kilometers you think they will cover that day. (Yes, kilometers – they’re on the metric system over there.)
Before 19:00 CET of each day (day 1, 2, 3) or 16:00 CET on Thursday (day 4) enter the contest by sending a tweet to: @MOTOACTV
In the tweet, ensure you use the #MWCMarathon hashtag, for example:
@MOTOACTV Athletes will cover X.XX kilometers in the #MWCMarathon on Day X/Today
And insert the number of kilometers you think will be covered. The two closest estimates each day will win.
Also…there are two extra chances to win a MOTOACTV.
On day 2 (February 28) of the show Iwan Thomas, former Olympian, World Champion and MOTOACTV user, will be making a special appearance on the MOTOACTV stand.
He’ll be explaining how MOTOACTV has been helping his training regime and will run two miles on the treadmill, one at 13:30 CET and another at 15:00 CET. For your chance to win, tweet to: @MOTOACTV before 13:29 CET on February 28 what you think his fastest mile time will be using the following format:
@IwanRunner will have a fastest mile time of [X]mins & [X]secs in the #MWCMarathon
And insert the time for Iwan’s fastest mile.
The winners will be announced via Twitter on the morning of the following day and a full list of winners will appear on our blog on March 5th, 2012.
Please note that all features and supporting services of the MOTOACTV device may not work in every country.
