The HDT 502 has a built-in iDEN Packet Data Radio. With the radio, real time database inquiry becomes an easy task. Information is downloaded and uploaded to/from the database server in a flick of a second.

The HDT 502 operating system, pJava™ over pSOS™ is intended to allow applications to be written in the Java™ programming language, while preserving the real time nature of the device. Application development is eased using the Java programming language on a PC environment under Windows™.
