Black Belts are the Six Sigma methodology experts with a detailed knowledge of the DMAIC problem solving methodology and the statistical principles, which support it. Dedicated to solving key problems facing an organization, these experts may also take on the role of coaching Green Belts and management to provide momentum and focus for the Six Sigma initiative.
- Black Belt training is provided as 20 days of training spread over 4 months.
- Black Belts receive one week per month of training in a classroom with the remainder spent at work dedicated to assigned projects applying the learned Six Sigma methodology.
- Coaching, mentoring support and on going project reviews between training sessions for each Black Belt is provided by Motorola University's Master Black Belt. This activity is conducted on-site and reasonable telephone and email support is also provided.
- Successful candidates are awarded certification through Motorola University's Six Sigma Black Belt Certification Program.
Program Overview:
Since a key role for Black Belts is to effectively lead project teams, the Motorola University program prepares candidates to do just that, by giving them the skills and knowledge they need for the exceptional leadership of business improvement projects. Upon completing each segment of training, participants immediately apply concepts and tools taught to their real-time improvement projects under the scheduled coaching and support of our Master Black Belt.
Black Belt candidates learn to use the DMAIC model for process improvement and Statistical tools and techniques to make fact-based decisions.
Black Belt Certification:
Motorola University offers the option of formal Black Belt certification. It requires that Black Belt candidates complete training, pass a test, and demonstrate results on their improvement project(s).
Program Length: Four weeks delivered over a four-month time frame. |
