Motorola in Canada
–
Canada was selected as the site for the first international expansion by Motorola, Inc. in 1947. Motorola Canada has 370 employees with offices located in major urban centers across the country.
In Canada all three business units are present: Mobile Devices, Enterprise Mobility Solutions and Home and Networks Mobility

1947 - 1957 : Rogers Majestic Electronics Corporation, part of Philips group of companies, was licensed to distribute Motorola products in Canada

1947 - 1957 : Canadian Radio Manufacturing Corporation manufactured Motorola products, also a Philips company.

1957 : Motorola Canada is incorporated and represents Motorola’s first subsidiary outside the United States with R.M. Brophy as its first President.

1960 : Full production of products including mobile two-way radio, radio relay, microwave and power line carrier
