Motorola Enhances Management Team in China for ‘One-face’ to Customers

BEIJING – 5 April 2005 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced an enhancement of its China management team in order to drive its Seamless Mobility strategy and to realize ‘one face’ to customers for all products and services in China. Ruey Bin Kao, corporate vice president and general manager, Motorola Networks Business, has been appointed president of Motorola (China) Electronics Ltd. with immediate effect.

“With abundant experience in the China market and exceptional understanding of customer needs , Ruey Bin will lead Motorola China to realize its ‘Seamless Inside’ strategy for day-to-day operations in order to provide a more coordinated one-face to the customer for all products and services. ” said Simon Leung, regional president, Asia Pacific Field Operations.

In his expanded role, Ruey Bin will be responsible for achieving financial results across all businesses while creating and executing marketing, sales and communications plans. He will implement strategic account management, ensuring company governance and positive employee engagement while strengthening relationships with key customers and government constituencies.

Ruey Bin will continue his role as the general manager, Networks Business in China.

With over 20 years experience in the industry, Ruey Bin has been a leader in the Networks Business since 1993. He has developed strong relationships with key customers and government organizations and has been instrumental in driving the Networks business’s integrated end-to-end solutions to telecom carriers across greater China.

Daniel Shih has been appointed corporate vice president of business development, Asia Pacific Field Operations focusing on the company’s growth initiatives. He will continue to lead Motorola’s R&D efforts in China.

Simon Leung said: “Over the past 15 months, Daniel has led the Motorola China organization to achieve phenomenal growth. We are grateful for his achievements, as well as the insight and energy Daniel brings to Motorola.”

Both Ruey-bin and Daniel will report to Simon Leung.
