Motorola Board Appoints Samuel Scott as Lead Director
SCHAUMBURG, Ill. – May 24, 2005 – Motorola Inc. (NYSE:MOT) today announced that the Motorola board of directors has appointed Samuel C. Scott III lead director for a one-year term. As the lead director, Mr. Scott will chair meetings of the independent directors and serve as a liaison with the chairman with respect to matters considered by the independent directors.
Mr. Scott has been a member of Motorola’s board since 1993, and is the chairman of the board’s compensation and leadership committee.
Mr. Scott serves as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Corn Products International. Mr. Scott currently serves as a director of The Bank of New York, ACCION USA, Inroads Chicago and the Chicago Council on Foreign Relations and is a trustee of The Conference Board.
