Motorola Launches High-Performance Walkie Talkie – the TLKR T7

Basingstoke, UK – 17 September 2008 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today launched the high performance model in its TLKR range of walkie talkies – the new TLKR T7, featuring new innovative features. Integrating Motorola’s distinctive design with innovative technology, the shock-proof TLKR T7 is for sport enthusiasts who need a rugged and high-performance communications device for their adventures.

Providing the same value proposition as the other TLKR radios, the license free T7 comes at an affordable price point and is a cost-effective companion to those who lead active lifestyles, offering constant communication without call or connection charges.

The TLKR T7 has been developed by the same multi-award-winning design team for the TLKR range and provides yet another striking combination of form and function for those who want to communicate in style and stay connected in the most challenging of environments.

The TLKR T7 builds on the distinctive form factor that is echoed throughout the TLKR range. Incorporating the functionality and complexity of a traditional two-way radio, it offers users the unique versatility of various wearing styles. A clean metallic finish is contrasted with a tactile rubberized centre housing, providing an enhanced grip while adding a layer of protection around the radio.

Features include:
  • Direct Call (Caller ID)
  • 968 Channel/code combinations
  • Vibrate alert
  • Vox/iVox handsfree operation
  • Auto channel change
  • DC charging jack (optional accessory)
  • Rechargeable NiMH batteries
  • Up to 10km range*
  • Up to approximately 16 hours battery life
  • Battery save, low alert, sleep and level indicator
  • Channel monitor/scan

The special features of Direct Call (Caller ID) connect the user to everyone in the group or just a single person using chosen nicknames. Switching channels is easy for the whole talk group with the auto channel change function should there be interference on the current channel. T7 radios incorporate the now familiar TLKR connector loop, enabling a variety of wearing and carrying options.

All products are supplied in attractive, full-color packaging, containing a pair of T7 radios, rechargeable NiMH battery packs, charger unit, belt clips, and instruction manual.

Retail availability
The TLKR T7 is available at all major retailers and is expected to be available from September 2008. The pricing is yet to be confirmed. For more information please visit the following website www.motorola.com/walkie-talkie.
