Motorola Introduces MOTOTRBO™ Digital Two-Way Radio System with IP Connectivity and its New RadioCARE Service in Malaysia

New MOTOTRBO™ IP Site Connect offers uninterrupted voice and data communications without geographical limitations

Petaling Jaya, MALAYSIA – 17 December 2008 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced the introduction of MOTOTRBO™ Professional Digital Two-Way Radio System, a digital communications platform which combines the best of two-way radio with digital technology to deliver increased capacity and spectral efficiency, integrated data applications and enhanced voice communications.

The new MOTOTRBO™ system in Malaysia is equipped with the latest software release that is capable of supporting Motorola’s IP Site Connect application. The new feature enables MOTOTRBO users to link up to 15 connections, instantly creating a wide-area network where users can share or transfer business-critical voice and data information across multiple or dispersed geographic locations, eliminating the impact of physical barriers resulting in seamless mobility and connectivity.

MOTOTRBO™ utilizes a two-slot Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) digital technology to improve basic functionality and system performance, including increased system capacity, improved audio quality, longer talk time, built-in privacy, and enhanced call signaling and control capabilities for future enhancements.

In addition, MOTOTRBO™ supports integrated data applications such as text messaging, GPS-based location tracking and other IP data applications. MOTOTRBO™ is a comprehensive system including portable and mobile units, repeater, data applications, accessories and services, with the capability of operating in digital or analog mode, making it possible for professional businesses to easily and affordably migrate to a digital platform at their own pace.

MOTOTRBO™ is designed to meet the expanding needs and challenges of professional customers in various industries such as transportation, education, construction, manufacturing, private security, smaller municipalities and public service entities which require a highly reliable business critical communication solution to help improve workforce productivity, operational efficiency and increased mobility while maintaining constant connectivity with the workforce.

To further enhance its after sales service direct to customers, Motorola also unveiled its new RadioCARE Service Program. Utilizing specialized service vehicles, Motorola’s RadioCARE service provides on-location response to customers’ requests including free consultation, system installation, radio maintenance and servicing such as optimizing and tuning two-way radios. In addition, the service also covers the conditioning of radios and batteries, replacement of spare parts and keeping customers informed of the latest product promotions.
