Printrak Certified as Official LiveScan Vendor by the California Department of Justice

ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 7, 2002 – Printrak, A Motorola Company
(NYSE: MOT), announced today that it has been certified by the California Department of Justice as an official provider of livescan technology to capture fingerprints, palmprints and mugshots. The certification means any authorized agency in the State of California now has access to Printrak’s revolutionary livescan technology.

As one of the only FBI-certified palmprint capture devices, Printrak’s LiveScan Station 3000N™ (LSS 3000N™) represents the latest in livescan innovations, with an easy-to-use, full-featured scanner, streamlined cabinet, integrated palmprint capture and a new multi-directional camera tower which enables full featured mugshot capabilities.

The LiveScan Station 3000N has been so well received in California and throughout the world that the Solano County, Calif., Sheriff’s Office recently purchased and installed 13 LiveScan Station 3000N systems in August 2001.
“We are looking forward to utilizing Printrak’s premier livescan technology,” said Denise Cantrell, Automated Fingerprint Identification System Supervisor for the Solano County Sheriff’s Office. “With high quality images and accurate results, the LiveScan Station 3000N has set a new standard in the livescan industry. The LiveScan Station 3000N will provide our agency with advanced booking functionality, saving us both precious time and resources.”

The certification further enhances Printrak’s position throughout the state of California when coupled with several other recent LiveScan Station installations, including Anaheim Police Department, Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office and the Agua Caliente Tribal Gaming Commission.

“The California Department of Justice is pleased to certify Printrak’s state-of-the-art livescan system,” said Louise Knedel, Assistant Chief, Bureau of Criminal Identification and Information for the California Department of Justice. “The LiveScan Station 3000N is a fast and reliable solution that captures high- quality images for state, national and federal agencies worldwide.”

The LSS 3000N is part of the Digital Justice Solution, Printrak’s integrated suite of core technologies that meet the entire range of public safety, criminal justice and civil information management needs. Each product family within the Digital Justice Solution is seamlessly integrated into a comprehensive solutions package that enables the capture, tracking and sharing of accurate information relating to incident and offender records across the entire public safety and criminal justice network.
