Device
leadership in mobile music, UMTS/WCDMA and the
enterprise
Mobile music, entertainment
and imaging; mobile broadband; and the enterprise are key points of strategic
focus for Motorola.
Earlier this month at the
M3 Music Summit in Miami, Motorola showcased the industry’s most advanced
suite of mobile-music handsets to enable downloadable, customizable music on the
go. The Motorola C650 features MP3 ringtones and video playback options. The
E398 delivers 3D stereo surround sound and an integrated MP3 player. And, the
E680 pumps up the volume with video and MP3 capabilities. Each handset delivers
a best-in-class, phone-first mobile music experience – creating
opportunities for operators and desire and demand among consumers. Compelling
handset design, key marketing alliances with iconic music lifestyle brands such
as MTV International, and collaboration with emerging artists in regional
markets are important elements of Motorola’s mobile music strategy.
Prior to Miami, at Cannes, France, Motorola
unveiled its newest solutions for UMTS/WCDMA networks – the Motorola E1000
and A1000. The new handsets are designed to deliver the 3G mobile broadband
experience with size, weight and talk-times rivaling today’s top 2.5G
handsets. And, also at Cannes, Motorola unveiled industry-leading GSM-handset
solutions for Windows-centric mobile professionals. The MPx100 candybar
features productivity tools and a 1.2-megapixel camera, and the MPx clamshell,
also with 1.2-megapixel camera, adds seamless WiFi/GPRS connectivity and a
bi-directional hinge system to enable voice or QWERTY keyboard functionality.
