Motorola Expands CDMA Portfolio – with RAZR, Unveils “Must Have” Handsets, New Automotive Win and Mission-Critical Network Technology at CTIA Show
Company Expands Seamless Mobility Portfolio
CTIA, New Orleans – 15 March 2005 – At CTIA Wireless 2005 (Booth # 3145, Hall D), Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) showcased its ever-expanding Seamless Mobility solutions portfolio – highlighting the company’s latest wireless handset and networking innovations – all designed to help consumers get and stay connected easily and effortlessly in the home, the workplace, the automobile and out in the world.
The latest additions to Motorola’s Seamless Mobility portfolio include the ultra-thin, award winning RAZR in CDMA, MOTOMESH™ – mission critical communications and new alliances that bring imaging, printing and editing to mobile devices.

• CDMA: RAZR, the world’s most talked about handset, is coming to Asia this summer in CDMA. Additionally, three new must-have CDMA handsets expand the Motorola line-up. The 3-megapixel MS550 slider brings amateur photography to a voice-first design. For the mass market, Motorola is delivering the V323, featuring a large color display, and the V266p with push-to-talk at an affordable price. • Capture and Share: Two new imaging phones to easily capture and share moments through photo imaging, video and messaging – the new Motorola V280 and V557. • Connections for Everyone: The new Motorola ultra-affordable V176, making it possible for consumers to connect with words, images and more with just one push of a button. • Consumer Experiences: New imaging devices that work interoperably with solutions from leading companies in the mobile imaging, printing and editing arenas - on the phone, at retail, at home and online – including new Motorola alliance Avvenu, plus Epson, Fuji, HP, Kodak, Pixel Magic and Snapfish. • Bluetooth®: Advanced wire-free solutions continue with the new Motorola H500 Bluetooth Headset, bringing best-in-class audio and connectivity to market.
Connected Home Solutions Motorola provides the solutions to keep consumers connected to their home environment, anywhere, anytime through: • Visual Connections: The Motorola Ojo™ Personal Videophone enables consumers to have true-to-life, face-to-face communications with the people they care about, even when they are miles apart. • Cordless Communications: The SD4500 Cordless Phone System unifies cellular and landline calling to simplify home communications for consumers. The expandable 2.4GHz system also includes a wireless camera, enabling consumers to see live video on a color handset display, streaming from anywhere in their home. • Motorola Home Monitoring and Control: This coordinated system of cameras, sensors and environmental devices works together with your mobile phone and broadband connection to provide real-time information about what’s happening in your home.
Many of these solutions are showcased in the Wireless Home: a 7,000 square foot, larger than life, model home that features an impressive showcase of applications, products and devices. Networks Motorola Networks makes Seamless Mobility real by integrating heterogeneous networks that enable operators to deliver a user experience that is transparent across environments and access networks. At CTIA, Motorola’s’ Network presence includes: • Mobile Broadband: Motorola provides a complete end-to-end CDMA 1xEV-DO solution from an all IP-network infrastructure and core to handsets. Demonstrations include VoIP service on its fully integrated end-to-end CDMA 1xEV-DO. • Wireless Broadband: Canopy™ Advantage and family of products bring proven reliability and security to wireless broadband connectivity. • Core: Motorola’s IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) seamlessly connects converged applications and multimedia services on multiple devices. • Multimedia Messaging Service Center (MMSC) provides scalable growth to support more than 40 million subscribers. • Motorola SoftSwitch (MSS) and CDMA network now being deployed for Honduran operator Comunitel with service scheduled for second quarter 2005. • Networks: Motorola continues support for KDDI with $150M expansion order for CDMA2000 1X.
