Motorola Launches Communications Server Alliance

Validated, Pre-Integrated Communications Server Solutions Promote Customer Confidence

TEMPE, Ariz –– February 7, 2006 — Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today launched the Motorola Communications Server Alliance, continuing its commitment to bring the benefits of open, standards-based communications servers to original equipment manufacturers and network solution providers. Alliance members include Intel, Interphase Corporation, MontaVista Software and Wind River.

Motorola’s Communications Server Alliance includes a new validation process and lab resources to enable qualified program participants’ products to be pre-tested and validated to work with Motorola’s communications servers. These program enhancements will help both Motorola and its communications server customers to develop and deploy their new products faster and more cost-efficiently.

“Businesses are looking to leverage the vendor ecosystem to more quickly build solutions based on Motorola’s communications servers, so we are launching our Communications Server Alliance to include interoperability testing of our participants’ products with Motorola’s communications servers,” said Wade Campbell, strategic marketing director, Embedded Communications Computing, Motorola. “This initiative and other program enhancements will give our customers the confidence that their specific business solutions can be quickly deployed using a platform comprised of an ecosystem of pre-tested elements.”

The Communications Server Alliance is an ecosystem of technology, service and solution providers aligned to provide standards-based solution elements for Motorola’s communications servers. Alliance participants receive access to Motorola embedded communications computing product roadmaps, development systems, and participate in marketing activities with Motorola.

Motorola will continue to evolve the communications server validation process to complement SCOPE (an industry alliance to accelerate the deployment of carrier grade base platforms for service provider applications) and emerging industry certification and interoperability efforts.
