Motorola Delivers Seamless Mobility At 3GSM 2006

Unveils Seamless Entertainment Must-Have Experiences for Consumers

A Multitude of New Alliances, New Innovations and “Must Have” Products for the Moto “Mobile Me”

BARCELONA, Spain - 3GSM World Congress 2006 – 13 February 2006 – Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today unveiled an exciting range of new alliances, technologies and services that will provide consumers with seamless access to the entertainment they love.

“When it comes to mobile entertainment, Motorola delivers it all – music, information, video, gaming and community,” said Ron Garriques, president of Motorola Mobile Devices. “We have the broadest, most diverse set of technologies and products across all price ranges and form factors, and a clear roadmap for the future of mobile broadband.”

“Our alliances are bringing the latest in high-tech to consumers. Google for search. Kodak for mobile imaging. Yahoo! for mobile content. Microsoft for productivity and entertainment. These services are hot, and Motorola is connecting the consumer seamlessly to this world It’s all a key part of making Moto ‘Mobile Me’ a reality...the ability to connect with family, friends, information and entertainment at home and work, in the auto and from all the spaces in between.”

As part of its continuing relationship with Yahoo!, today at the 3GSM World Congress Motorola will demonstrate podcasting on a RAZR V3x phone, showing how consumers will access entertainment in the future. This new mobile application will not only let consumers drag and drop podcasts directly from the PC to the mobile through the Yahoo! Music Engine, but also allow over-the-air downloading of podcasts through an integrated application directly on the handset.

Motorola has also extended its relationship with Microsoft, today announcing the seamless integration of Windows Media® technologies on Motorola handsets to redefine music discovery. Motorola's music handsets will add support for Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM), Windows Media Audio (WMA), the enhanced Windows Media Audio Pro (WMA Pro) codec and Media Transfer Protocol (MTP). In the near future, people will have many more options for finding, purchasing and playing back digital music while on the go.

In January, Motorola announced a global alliance that will put the power of Google in your pocket, with one-click access to the ever-popular Google Search on new internet-optimized handsets. Consumers will be able to seamlessly access their favourite Google services, beginning in early 2006.

With cameras now a “must have” feature of mobile phones, Kodak and Motorola joined forces to solve the challenge of turning them into revenue streams for wireless network operators. The result of this partnership announced last month will liberate billions of digital photos for immediate sharing with friends and family. Motorola’s leadership in wireless mobile communications coupled with Kodak’s strength in imaging will enable the partnership to deliver an unsurpassed consumer mobile imaging experience, from camera to kiosk.

Last week, Motorola Networks announced the M-Wallet solution, featuring an interface that gives consumers quick, secure access to the financial world virtually anywhere, anytime, eliminating the need to carry a debit or credit card in your wallet. It also addresses the needs of companies wishing to innovatively market their goods and services.

In addition, Motorola Networks today unveiled compelling consumer experiences across its IMS platform at 3GSM. The live demonstrations are based on leading-edge IMS applications integrated with the latest third party solutions. Motorola is also adding key components to its IMS portfolio, the Motorola IMS Mobility Manager, which enables voice call continuity and Feature Server, for true seamless mobility

At 3GSM, Motorola is showcasing its award-winning Canopy® solution, part of its MOTOwi4™ portfolio, to perform high-speed, rich media downloads and IP video telephony. Combined with the Motorola IMS, MOTOwi4 products offer a path to seamless mobility and ubiquitous connections that deliver a ‘personal broadband on-the-go.’

In the handset market, Motorola cutting-edge design and experiences continue to set the standard for mobile communications.

“Inventing and reinventing the mobile handset is our mission at Motorola,” said Garriques, “We started with RAZR and will drive forward with even more wicked designs through the recently launched SLVR, PEBL and soon to be available Q families.”

Building on the success of the highly acclaimed, ultra-slim, SLVR L7 and L6, the two new ultra-slim models, developed in association with the global i-mode alliance, now come complete with i-mode functionality including a dedicated i-mode soft key to enable even faster access to over 96,000 active i-mode sites. With over 51 million subscribers worldwide, i-mode has revolutionised the way the world accesses information on mobile handsets.
