and Control System HMEZ1000 lets you monitor near real-time video from wireless
cameras in your home, remotely control devices such as thermostats or lighting
fixtures, and receive alerts to a mobile phone or e-mail account if certain
user-programmable conditions occur.
Motorola
also announced several other exciting new developments,
including:
• Verizon -- Motorola
and Verizon Wireless signed a three-year general purchasing agreement to
increase Verizon Wireless’ network capacity and coverage. Verizon
Wireless will deploy Motorola’s CDMA2000 1X radio base stations, IP call
processing platforms and advanced messaging solutions in major
markets.
• VIVO-- has awarded
Motorola’s Brazilian subsidiary, Motorola Industrial Ltda., a major
contract for 25 Motorola SoftSwitches for CDMA (MSS-C). Commercial deployment
is already underway in Londriana.
•
OFDM -- Motorola Labs, through extensive research and field tests over the
past four years has established Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing
(OFDM) as a key technology in the next generation of heterogeneous wireless
networks. It has proven 30-year-old existing technology can be applied to
high-speed mobile networks to deliver peak downlink speeds of up to 300 Mbps.
This research demonstrates that future all-IP mobile networks using OFDM
technology have the capability to provide a broadband user experience,
