Recycling in the United States
In the U.S., Motorola is a strong proponent and supporter of environmental sustainability and recycling programs. In partnership with our carriers, customers, retailers and recyclers and on our own, we operate takeback programs here and across the globe. In fact, Motorola is expanding its takeback initiatives to make it easier for consumers to participate wherever our products are sold. | Mobile phones | Race to Recycle is a program for all accredited K-12 schools in the U.S. With Motorola’s help, schools can earn extra cash and do their part for the environment by getting old mobile phones out of closets and kitchen drawers and into the recycling bin. Motorola makes it easy — even if you are not part of a school organization. Printable pre-paid postage shipping labels are available so you, your company or organization can participate. A portion of the proceeds generated from contributed intact cell phones is distributed to schools participating in the Race to Recycle program. |
| Cordless phones | In the U.S., Motorola will accept all Motorola-branded cordless phone units for recycling. This includes handsets, base units (with or without integrated answering machines), cords and plugs. Learn more about how to return your Motorola brand cordless phone for recycling. |
| Modems and routers | In the U.S., Motorola will accept all Motorola-branded modems and routers for recycling. This includes not only the modem or router, but also all associated power cords and plugs. Learn more about how to return a Motorola brand modem or router for recycling. |
| Cable set-tops | In the U.S., Motorola has established a program with Independent Service Providers of cable television services to accept returns of set-tops for recycling. If you wish to return a Motorola cable set-top box, please contact your local service provider. |
| "Man-down" switch or "tilt" switch |

| Enterprise Mobility business equipment | In the U.S., Motorola will accept all Motorola-branded enterprise mobility equipment for recycling. This includes portable and mobile radios; infrastructure equipment; scanners; old computers, laptops and monitors; and, system components, such as displays.
