Mony Hassid is managing director, Motorola Ventures Israel. In this role, he is responsible for identifying and executing strategic, minority-equity investments in technology companies to accelerate access for all of Motorola's existing and future businesses and markets. Mony actively engages in business development and strategic development for various Motorola business units in Israel, identifying ways in which venture investments can accelerate business unit activities.

Prior to joining Motorola Ventures, Mony was a consultant to first tier venture capitalists in Israel, their portfolio companies and entrepreneurs on marketing, business development and technology issues. Mony has a wealth of experience in entrepreneurship, and was a founder of an SDR base station startup.

Mony worked for 10 years in Motorola GTSS in Israel, the wireless infrastructure sector, in leading business development, engineering and technology positions. Mony's most recent position was as a business development section manager, searching for and evaluating emerging cellular, wireless and Internet technologies in Israel Industry for Aspira, Motorola Next Generation Net. In parallel, he was responsible for 3G in Motorola Israel. Prior to that position, he was an engineering and chief technologist manager, responsible for design and deployment of a large CDMA system in Israel. He also was chief engineer of a feasibility study performed for the government, researching various cellular technologies.

Mony holds a master's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tel Aviv and an MBA from the Recanati Faculty University of Tel Aviv, graduating from both institutions with honors.
