Software Update for Motorola DEVOUR™ 1.15.83

Introduction

This is a procedure to upgrade the software on your Motorola DEVOUR to version 1.15.83. This update includes numerous enhancements and improvments to device performance, email & calendar functionality, and device audio.

Instructions for Installing Software

  1. For a successful installation, we recommend installing these updates while the battery in your phone is fully charged.
  2. Select the Settings icon in the main menu.
  3. Select About phone and then select System Updates.
  4. Select Download; after the software is downloaded, select Install.
  5. After the software is installed, your phone will re-start automatically.
  6. Your phone is now updated with 1.15.83 software.

Highlights

After downloading and installing the 1.15.83 software release, you will notice:

Touchscreen Performance Improves the response time and accuracy of the touchscreen when the Menu, Home, and Back Keys are pressed.
Improved Stability Stability improvements have been made to the browser, contacts, and V Cast Music with Rhapsody applications.
Signal Strength Indicator Accuracy Adjustments have been made to improve the accuracy of the antenna signal strength indicator and battery meter on the device display.
Call Performance Multiple enhancments have been made to incoming call performance.
Mobile IM Application Behavior Volume keys will now function within the Mobile IM application.
Picture Upload Orientation Improvements have been made to ensure pictures are uploaded in the correct orientation.
Improved POP3 Email Support Device functionality has been improved to allow users to more easily delete POP3 email accounts.
Email Account Setup Clarification The display used when setting up new email accounts has been changed, prompting users to use a back slash instead of a forward slash.
Exchange ActiveSync® Enhancements The agenda view for Exchange ActiveSync® calendars has been enhanced to display meeting titles.
Improved Support for Verizon.net Email Accounts Verizon.net email accounts will now auto-configure.
Audio Optimizaitons Overall improvements have been made to the ringer, voice dialing application, and multimedia audio when using a headset.
Updated Google Applications DEVOUR software update 1.15.83 includes updated versions of Google Applications.
