Product Testing Services

Return to Product Safety

Our Motorola Product Testing Services team can provide testing, report preparation and agency certification in accordance with the 60950-1 standards for wall outlet powered or battery operated information technology equipment. Information technology equipment includes computers and computer accessories, or any product that can be used for the gathering and/or processing of information. With the convergence of many different types of electronic communication and computing devices, this has become one of the most widely accepted and used product categories globally. This category can cover anything from a printer to a wireless Internet device.

Based on our experience and competencies, we have been evaluated and approved to complete the following key 60950-1 tests:

  • Limited power source
  • Touch current (earth leakage)
  • Electric strength (dielectric)
  • Drop test
  • Mold stress
  • Component abnormal operation
  • Input
  • Heating
  • Creepage and Clearance analysis

The 60950-1 series of standards are harmonized from the base international standard IEC60950-1. UL/CSA 60950-1 and EN60950-1 are examples of national and regional standards based on the IEC60950-1 standard. The UL/CSA standard represents the requirements of the United States and Canada, while the EN standard represents the European Union requirements for CE marking.

Motorola Product Testing Services can performnotebook computer battery listed accessory testing in accordance with UL60950-1.
