Regina Dugan

Regina Dugan serves as senior vice president at Motorola Mobility, where her charge is to build and lead the Advanced Technology & Projects (ATAP) group. Regina was most recently the Director of DARPA, the principal agency within the Department of Defense for research, development and demonstration of high-risk, high-payoff capabilities. DARPA has a singular mission: to prevent and create strategic surprise. It has a long list of breakthrough achievements ranging from the Internet and GPS to the M-16 rifle. She first served as a DARPA program manager in 1996, and in 2000, she was awarded the Bronze deFleury medal by the Army Engineer Regiment. She also co-founded a niche investment company, served as a senior executive in several high tech startups, is an inventor or co-inventor on several patents, and has a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Caltech.
