Recycling in Belgium
Recyclability and minimizing environmental impacts are key elements of Motorola's commitment to product stewardship and global corporate citizenship. Motorola is involved in creative and effective voluntary programmes to minimize waste and facilitate product recycling/recovery.
Belgium is subject to the European Union’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive, which places responsibility for disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment on the producer.
As part of the legislation, electrical and electronic equipment, including Motorola products, will feature the crossed out wheeled bin symbol on the product or in the documentation, to show that these products must be disposed of in accordance with the WEEE Directive.
The WEEE Directive sets out different approaches for consumer products, including mobile phones, and for products which are supplied to businesses or other organizations. Please see the sections below for details of how to arrange recycling of your waste Motorola products.
Recycling mobile phones
For consumers in Belgium we offer a free postal return for mobile phones. Used mobile phones can be in any condition and of any brand. Contact the shop or network operator who supplied your phone and they should take it back.
Recycling other consumer equipment
If you bought the equipment from a retailer, please contact them in the first instance to discuss arrangements for takeback.
If you prefer, your local household waste amenity point can also accept waste electrical equipment.
